Tasha Dianell Johnson is a Southern-born author from the small community of Browndell, Texas. A Licensed Vocational Nurse by day and writer by night, her stories are rooted in healing, ancestral memory, and the quiet strength of the women who came before her.

Her inspiration emerged during her personal battle with breast cancer, when long days of reflection brought back memories of her grandmother — the things she used to say when she thought no one was listening, and the laughter that echoed through generations. Those moments, paired with countless hours spent researching her father’s lineage on Ancestry, deepened her desire to tell stories that honor lost connections and cultural roots.

She discovered that her maternal family tree stretches across Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. As a child, she often heard the term “Geechee talk” without fully understanding its meaning — a mystery that would later bloom into the rich cultural and spiritual world she now writes about.
